THE 7 STEPS OF IMPECCABLE MAKEUP

Good makeup can not only enhance your natural features but also give you a confidence boost. Here's a step-by-step guide to creating a flawless makeup base:

1. SKIN PREPARATION

Preparing the skin is crucial for a flawless makeup finish. In addition to cleansing and moisturizing, consider using a serum tailored to your specific needs (anti-aging, hydrating, for sensitive skin, etc.). This can improve the condition of your skin and optimize the results of your makeup.

  • Cleaning: Start by cleansing your face to remove impurities and excess oil.
  • Hydration:  Apply a moisturizer suited to your skin type to nourish it and prepare it for makeup. Wait a few minutes for it to penetrate well.
  • Primer: Use a makeup base (primer) to smooth the skin, minimize the appearance of pores and make your makeup last longer.

2. COMPLEXION

When it comes to foundation, finding the right formula and shade for your skin is essential. Foundations come in different forms: liquid, cream, powder, and mousse.

Dry skin types will benefit from hydrating formulas, while oily skin types may prefer mattifying, non-comedogenic options. When choosing the shade, test the product on your jawline to ensure a perfect match to the tone of your neck and face.

  • Correctors/Anti-dark circles: Apply concealer to cover dark circles under the eyes or camouflage imperfections. Choose a shade slightly lighter than your skin for dark circles and a shade that matches your skin for blemishes.
  • Face powder: Choose a foundation that suits your skin type and tone. Apply it evenly using a brush, sponge or your fingers for a natural finish.
  • Powder: Set makeup with a translucent powder to mattify and prolong its hold.

3. EYES

When working on your eyes, don't forget the importance of an eyelid primer. This can help prevent eyeshadow from creasing and intensify its color.

For eyeliner, experiment with different techniques: a thin line for a natural look, a thicker line or even a “wing” for a dramatic effect. If you have sensitive eyes, look for hypoallergenic formulas.

  • Eyeshadow: Apply a base color all over the eyelid, then use darker shades for the crease and lighter shades to highlight the inner corner of the eye and under the brow bone.
  • Eyeliner: Draw a line of eyeliner along the lash line to define your eyes. You can opt for a subtle look or a bolder stroke depending on your preference.
  • Mascara: Apply mascara starting from the base of the lashes and wiggling the brush lightly to separate the lashes and add volume.

4. EYEBROWS

Eyebrows frame your face, so their importance should not be underestimated. For a more natural look, use an eyebrow pencil or gel with light, short strokes to mimic the appearance of natural hairs. If you have sparse eyebrows, consider a semi-permanent makeup technique like microblading for a long-term solution.

  • Define Brows: Use a brow pencil, powder or gel to fill in sparse areas and give your brows a sharp shape.

5. PLAY

The key to applying blush is finding the right color and formula for your skin tone. Dry skin types may benefit from cream formulas for a natural dewy look, while oily skin types may prefer powder blushes.

Regarding application, adjust according to the shape of your face: on the cheekbones for a round face, slightly above for an oval face, etc.

  • Blush: Smile and apply blush to the cheekbones to give a healthy glow. Blend well for a natural look.
  • Highlighter: Apply highlighter to the high points of your face like the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and Cupid's bow for a subtle glow.

6. LIPS

Before applying your lipstick, exfoliate your lips with a gentle scrub to remove dead skin. This will allow for a smoother, more even application.

For thin lips, using a lip liner slightly above your natural line can help create the illusion of fuller lips.

  • Hydration: Apply lip balm to moisturize them.
  • Lip contour:  Use a lip liner to define the contour of your lips and prevent lipstick from smudging.
  • Lipstick: Apply your lipstick or gloss, starting at the center of the upper lip and stretching towards the ends.

7. FIXATION

Setting spray is a must-have for making your makeup last longer, especially on long days or special events. For extra fixation, you can also use a translucent powder before spraying.

  • Setting spray: Finally, spray a setting spray on your face to set the makeup and make it last longer.

Remember that makeup is a form of self-expression. Don't be afraid to experiment with different products and techniques until you find what works best for you. The most important thing is to feel beautiful and confident.
